The City is divided into 25 Wards. Each Ward has one Alderman plus a number of Common Councilmen.

Clare has represented the Ward of Farringdon Within, one of the City's largest Wards, since April 2008. She works alongside the Alderman and a team of 7 other Common Councilmen.

Clare currently serves on the Finance, Investment, Hampstead Heath, Queens Park and Highgate Wood Committees. She is also Chairman of the Board of Governors of the City of London School for Girls.

Clare is independent and is not affiliated to any political party.

Clare feels very privileged to represent the Ward of Farringdon Within. She says

"It is such a diverse Ward with a broad mix of large businesses, small businesses and residents. There are also 9 Livery Companies in the Ward, including the Fletchers', my own Livery, and so this Ward feels very much like home.

I stood for Common Council as I wanted to help people and make a difference and I have enjoyed working with a wide range of different stakeholders in the Ward to address various issues."

Clare has worked with residents and businesses to object to planning and licensing applications. She has also assisted with a variety of other issues including noise, disturbance from night time economy activity in the Ward, pollution, street cleaning, drainage and signage.
